Frequently Asked Questions
Can you deliver my csa box to my home?
Yes, we can deliver to your home for an additional fee. Deliveries are dropped off on Saturdays for the duration of the season. As of now we only deliver to the following areas: Hallandale, Aventura, Skylake, Highland Lakes, Miami Shores, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and South Miami. If you live close to one of these areas ask us if we can deliver to you and we will do our best to fit you in.
Where are your csa pick up locations?
Saturdays at Miami Shores, Downtown/Brickell, Coconut Grove, Highland Lakes (Aventura) and Hollywood.
What happens if I choose delivery and I'm not home at the time of delivery?
If you are not home to receive your share, the box will be left at the front door or reception if your residence has one.
Just keep in mind this food fact: Half of the farm labor goes to harvest and storage. Most vegetables need to stay in cool conditions after harvest to remain fresh. This is a crucial step and we strive to deliver the produce as fresh as possible, so if you won't be home to receive your share hand on hand directly from your farmer, we recommend that you don't let your box sit outside the fridge for any time longer than absolutely needed.
What happens if I choose pick up and I can't come to pick it up one week because I will be out of town or busy?
Try to have a friend, family member or neighbor who can pick it up for you or themselves. If you can't find anyone who wants your share then please give us 48hrs notice so we don't harvest it for you or find someone who will take it. You can also arrange for your own delivery service and we will gladly send your share as long as it's picked up during the pick up times and locations.
If you can't arrange any of the above, you will forfeit your share and we'll donate it to a family or a place in need.
Is my 50% deposit refundable?
All payments and deposits are non-refundable. The csa deposit reserves your spot in the program and will be put towards the total cost of your share.
What happens if I do not pay on time?
The remainder of your payment (if you paid a deposit) must be made by August 15, 2020. If you do not pay by this date, you will lose your spot on the csa program (unless you reach out to us and agree on an alternative payment plan) and the space will open up for someone else who may wish to join. Since the csa model is a collaborative effort, we depend on the commitment of our members and community all the way.
What kinds of vegetables and fruits do you grow?
We grow all sorts of vegetables, fruits and herbs throughout the season click here to see a list of crops that we grow..
Do you offer half shares?
For the moment we only offer full shares and a salad box which is a smaller share made up of mostly salad ingredients like leafy greens, scallions, radishes, cucumber, pepper and tomatoes. A full share will provide a nice amount of veggies for a family of four or two adults who enjoy eating vegetables.
When can we visit the farm?
We understand that visiting the farm where your food comes from is part of the experience of being a member of a csa program. We will schedule a couple open farm dates during the season, where you will be able to tour the farm and talk to your farmers. Farm visits will only be open for csa members this season to keep contact at a minimum during the pandemic.
What if I don't like something that comes in my weekly share or I'm allergic/can't eat it?
If you are allergic or have a medical condition we'll do our best to accommodate and replace that item for more of another one. If you just don't like something and no one will eat it at home, we encourage you to share it with a neighbour or family member. Also remember to give it a try before giving it away, often fresh food is not what you had experienced before and you may realize that you really like something that you thought you didn't. We can't accommodate likes and dislikes. But we do hope to inspire you to cook and explore new and local ingredients.
Is everything that comes in the box from your farm?
Mostly yes! We try to grow all the veggies right on our plot. This is not always possible for a variety of reasons and on occasion we will include items from other small and organic neighboring farms, we will always let you know where those items came from. Otherwise, everything comes from our farm.
